Hey girls
Today a song stuck in my head:
I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It's gonna be a bright
Bright sunshiny day
(I can see clearly now- Jimmy Cliff)
For a long time the clouds blocked my view and prohibited me to see the obstacles coming my way and it made me fell over every obstacle. Every time there was a dinner party to which I was invited, I couldn’t see the obstacles, I just stuffed my face. Every time I felt stressed and overwhelmed by my circumstances, I walked to the cupboard, filled my arms with cookies, chocolates and any sweet thing in order to feel more in control. Off course, I never got the outcome I wanted and I felt more like a failure, depressed, stressed and overwhelmed.
...like trained soldiers, we can run over the obstacles and overcome them in order to be ready for the battlefield.
Here’s the good news: Jesus is our light that clears up the clouds, brings joy right back into our lives and leads the way, even when there are obstacles. We no longer have to fall over the obstacles, but like trained soldiers, we can run over the obstacles and overcome them in order to be ready for the battlefield.
Does the obstacles get less? No, dearest sisters in Christ, unfortunately not. The obstacles I’ve faced at the beginning of my current 40 day journey and those I’m currently facing, are exactly the same; however I don’t allow the obstacles to rule me anymore; I overcome them.
Every day I have to put my armour on again (Eph. 6:11) in order to fight the fight.
Today, I want to challenge you to take hands with your fellow sisters in Christ and jump over a single obstacle. Take it one at a time. Don’t rush it. If you fail, ask for God’s forgiveness, repent with a pure heart and accept His loving mercy that he lavishes on you.
We are no longer slaves to the obstacles.
Lots of Love
Inge xx
