FREEDOM FROM OVEREATING: DAY 15

Hey girls

Do you know that you are a part of a lineage of grace just like Ruth? I love the story of Ruth and how she became a part of Jesus’s lineage. The whole reason that I love the story of Ruth is because she was a woman of patience. She had to wait to find out what her destiny was (Ruth 3: 18).

Do you know that you are a part of a lineage of grace just like Ruth?
If Ruth had not been patient, she probably would have missed being a part of Jesus’s lineage.

I do not know about you, but I struggle with waiting patiently on God sometimes. Especially when it means that, the thing I am waiting for concerns my future and destiny; but here we have a story about a woman whose patience in waiting resulted in glory. If Ruth had not been patient, she probably would have missed being a part of Jesus’s lineage.

The difference between Ruth and us is that we already received abundant grace; but we remain the same in that we too have to wait in order for God to lay out our destiny before us.

Temptation doesn’t mean I’m sinning, it simply means that I’m walking in the victory that God provided for me.

In my overeating journey, I too have to wait patiently. I have been set free instantly from a lot of stuff that kept me bondage for long, however I still have to resist temptation only a little while longer in order to be established and strengthened (1 Pet. 5:10). It’s in the temptation that I sometimes forget that I’m not defined by the trial I’m enduring and that temptation doesn’t mean I’m sinning. It simply means that I’m walking in the victory that God provided for me.

Ruth was the Woman of Valor that I can only wish to be, but one thing that keeps me pressing on, is in the knowing that once this trial is completed and I have endured the temptation, I will receive the crown of life ( James 1: 12). I will have so much more of Jesus’s character inside of me.

Just because a promise has not been fulfilled yet, does not mean it will not ever be fulfilled; it simply means that God’s favour and His timing has not aligned yet to create opportunity.

Waiting on God means that there is one thing that I hold onto and it is that the promises of God, will always be fulfilled in due time. Just because a promise has not been fulfilled yet, does not mean it will not ever be fulfilled; it simply means that God’s favour and His timing has not aligned yet to create opportunity.

My prayer is that every girl waiting for the promise of God to be fulfilled will rest in the steadfastness and faithfulness of our Lord.

Lots of Love

Inge xx
