Hey Ladies,
As I was standing in the golden-brown grass fields, the winter sun was spending its last minutes of the day, to witness this magical moment, gently touching my skin. The wind was blowing through my hair and little did I know that my whole life was about to change. He went down on his one knee, asking me if I am ready to spend the rest of my life with Him and pursue Jesus together. We both wept as I nodded my final yes.
My engagement made me realize that I was one step closer to fulfilling our lifelong promise to each other.
So why did I share a part of my engagement with you ladies?
Well, just as we promise each other in a marriage “to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish...”, God promise the same commitment to His church and His people, however, His commitment is perfect since He is ultimately love and perfection (Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love...1 John 4:8).
(“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33). We should never feel that we are facing anything alone in this world. Just as a married couple will fight and face everything together in a battle, surely God will do the same for us.
I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39).
May we really believe and trust in all the promises that God has made. May we really delight in these promises with Him as we are His children who can feast at His table (Acts 2:39). May we never be afraid to ask for His blessings and promises to take flower and bloom in our lives (But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you... Matthew 6:33).
If you don't feel that you are worthy enough to receive and delight in His promises, pray this prayer and allow the Holy Spirit to take control:
'Jesus, may we truly believe that You are our Groom, waiting for His bride ( the church) beautifully clothed in white. Thank you for blessing us abundantly and that we can withstand and resist anything from this world with You by our side. Thank you for sending us the Holy Spirit that gently nudges us in the right direction, reminding us of Your truth and love
(2 Timothy 1:7).'
Lots of Love
Tehillah
xx
