Hey ladies,
Have you ever felt so unhappy and disconnected with yourself and God, that all inner peace has been suffocated by your self-destructing thoughts? Have thoughts of ungodly desires ever consumed you so much that you feel yourself descending into unknown territory?
Unhappiness, self-destructive thoughts, and negativity usually grab hold of our thoughts once we allow it to settle into our lives and hearts. These thoughts and feelings soon become a whirlwind of emotions tossing our thoughts from one side to the other. Luckily, there is a way to be at peace with ourselves and others.
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-39)
Being at peace might seem tough, nevertheless, it is still completely possible with Him by our side. Practicing inner peace requires a fair amount of effort and self-control. Thankfully, the power of the Holy Spirit lives within us. Discovering this power is what makes the effort extremely rewarding. Being at peace with ourselves allows us to be at peace with others, creating a ripple effect of positivity in our lives.
...He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss... (Psalm 23:2)
When we unravel this specific bible verse in Psalm 23, the word ‘love’ can be defined by four words in Greek. God’s love is known to be agape in Greek. Agape consists of two different concepts, namely: ago which means “to lead like a shepherd” and the second half, pao, which means “to rest”. Delving into the root meaning of the word, a new dimension of God's love can be understood and experienced: As God is love, we can say that His love is the shepherd that leads us to a place of complete rest within His embracing heart.
May we remain steadfast in pursuing our Heavenly Father, patiently awaiting His reward of confidence in our lives.
Tonight I want to encourage you ladies, to continue trusting our Heavenly Father even when life disappoints. May you experience the fresh breeze of His love whilst lying in the green pastures of peace with Him.
Remember that deep inside of each and everyone one of us is a place of serenity and bliss, created by the One who knows us all too well. Reaching this place, requires stillness, tranquility, and endless faith in our Heavenly Father.
Lots of Love
Tehillah
