Hey Ladies,
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
The Word of God always tells us not to fear but rather to be courageous. How does it look to live a life filled with this God-given courage?
Courage has a diversity of meanings. It firstly means to be bold and brave. It is a faith-filled mindset that will enable someone to take a leap of faith when encountering difficulties or danger. In scripture it is also referred to as good cheer: having confidence and boldness.
How do we have the courage and at the same time bear fruit of it?
It is so easy to doubt the Spirit of strength that God has placed within us, nonetheless, we can turn to His word for encouragement to live boldly and have steadfast faith in our Father. When we learn to utilize His strength and find courage in Him, it is so much easier to live a life full of determination.
Sometimes we also need to have spiritual courage. This simply means that we are willing to open up ourselves and lay bare in front of Him and trust Him in the midst of uncertainty.
…For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline...2 Timothy 1:7
Dwelling inside of our comfort zones can easily become a habit, leaving us at the altar of, worshiping our own self-created idols. An idol is anything that replaces God’s position in our lives and heart. As much as we want to prioritize and put our Heavenly Father first, we all turn to other things from time to time, that seem instantly reachable and more comfortable than to spend quality time with Him. Being in our comfort zone can prevent us from stepping out in faith and courage in order to break the stronghold that the idols have on our lives.
The key ingredient to bearing fruit is perseverance; we have to press through our comfort zone to bear fruit in abundance.
…You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you… John 15:16
May we all strive to bear good fruits of the spirit and always allow our Heavenly Father to take away every branch that does not bear fruit so that our faith and courage may grow increasingly (John 15:1-27).
Lots of Love
Tehillah
